Texas Regional Pathways Network
Tri-District Teams Continue to Meet

RGV LEAD continues to host virtual Texas Regional Pathways Network (TRPN) meetings with Rio Hondo ISD, Lasara ISD, La Feria ISD, San Isidro ISD, San Perlita, and Santa Rosa ISD. Members of the TRPN Intermediary team are Luis Rodriguez, RGV LEAD Executive Director, Eliza Groff, RGV LEAD Program Coordinator, Dr. Norma Salaiz, Felipe Salinas, and Janie Johnston Lopez, contractors.

The six districts are broken up into two teams; the south team and the north team. The RGV LEAD intermediary team, along with the school district teams, are strategically planning Dual Enrollment classes in welding, energy, and health care. Business partners are also part of the equation, so they are participating in the meetings as well. The beauty of meeting virtually is that participants can break up into groups and converse in chat rooms. Issues relevant to the TRPN program are discussed in greater detail. The groups, then, reconvene and share their findings.

The RGV LEAD Intermediary group meets, not only with the six South Texas Region school districts, but with Jobs for the Future members nationwide. The team has attended several hours in virtual meetings discussing issues such as labor market needs, bussing and class scheduling needs, funding for TRPN materials, addressing low socio-economic student population needs and challenges, and other matters related to the grant program.

Presently, the RGV LEAD team is meeting with intermediary teams from as far away as New York to Hawaii. Participating in networking activities can mean only one thing – greater results for students in the Rio Grande Valley!
