Vol. 2, Iss. 5 | January 2021

Throughout the 2020-2021 school year, RGV LEAD has met with Santa Rosa personnel as part of the Texas Regional Pathways Network grant program. The discussions include developing TRPN four-year plans, creating crosswalks with higher education partners, creating business and industry partnerships, work-based learning experiences, and other information related to the grant. During one of the meetings, RGV LEAD found it refreshing to hear what Santa Rosa ISD was doing to kick off the new year, 2021, and would like to share the activity with our readers. This is what Melissa Salinas, Santa Rosa ISD Director of Curriculum and Instruction, had to say about the event:

SRISD started off the new year with a BANG! Our teachers attended the TECH ED Extravaganza where teachers received the option to learn more about the tech platforms that are being used by teachers within the district. The sessions were creat-ed for teachers, by teachers to find ways to improve stu-dent engagement as we con-tinue on with the 2020-2021 school year. The 80’s theme was a way to have fun while learning; and the teacher prizes were just a little extra-to say… Thank you for all you do!”
