“Shooting for Success” Skeet Shoot Hits the Target!
Now, this is a perfect formula! Volunteers + Participants = Success! RGV LEAD is ecstatic to report that the Inaugural “Shooting for Success” Skeet Shoot was a big hit!
Participants from as far away as Brownsville teamed up with Upper Valley teams to shoot off sixty rounds of ammunition at the El Dorado Sporting Clays on Floral Rd. north of Edinburg. Their aim, in addition to hitting clay pigeons, was to help build scholarship funds for RGV LEAD.
Participants were greeted by volunteers who helped them register and welcomed them to a complimentary breakfast. Luis Rodriguez, RGV LEAD CEO, and Lizzy de la Garza, RGV LEAD Board Director and Account Executive at Schneider Electric, gave a heartfelt welcome to all guests before the teams headed out to their assigned stations.
Taking first place was Holchemont, Ltd., a McAllen commercial construction company, who split the thousand dollars first prize.
Second place went to the team from Reveille Trucking Co. who shared the seven hundred fifty dollar winnings. Reveille Trucking Co. also sponsored another team which earned 3rd place five hundred dollar split.
RGV LEAD would like to thank its sponsors and volunteers for their support of the Inaugural “Shooting for Success” Skeet Shoot. Funds raised will be wisely used to promote the business and education connection. Until next year, keep shooting for success!
