RGV LEAD Hosts Regional Superintendents Meeting
The RGV LEAD Annual Meeting and Superintendents Meeting video conference session was held on November 10th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The superintendents and guests were welcomed by Luis Rodriguez, RGV LEAD Executive Director. He shared RGV LEAD ’s business and education partnership initiatives.
Lizzy de la Garza Putegnat, Account Executive, Schneider Electric, and RGV LEAD President and Board Chair, gave the opening remarks. The invocation and Pledge of Allegiance were led by Albert G. Chronis, Project Manager for Noble Texas Builders, LLC, and RGV LEAD Board Director. Luis introduced the guest speaker, Juanita Baldwin (Pictured left) who is the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Education and Outreach Coordinator. She, in turn, introduced Mickey Leland, Environmental Internship Program, who shared information on summer internship possibilities. After the presentation, Baldwin, a Brownsville native, offered her perspectives on the internships available through the TCEQ.

Luis shared RGV LEAD’s current status and what the plans are for the future. Naomi Perales, Community Relations Manager for Texas Gas Service and RGV LEAD Board Vice-President, announced the RGV LEAD Board elections results. Information on the newly appointed board members will be featured in the December newsletter. Lizzy de la Garza Putegnat concluded the meeting.
Superintendents and their representatives were reacquainted with RGV LEAD and its role in the Rio Grande Valley.
RGV LEAD is the umbrella and the initiatives are its spokes!
