RGV LEAD is pleased to announce that Brianna Lysette Salinas, Edinburg High School, Edinburg CISD, has been named the recipient of the $5,000 RGV LEAD Scholarship for 2018-2019.

Graduating as an RGV LEAD Scholar was required, and Salinas will have met that requirement when she graduates from Edinburg High School, Edinburg CISD, later this spring.

While in high school, Brianna has taken rigorous courses and maintained a 4.0 GPA.  She has been involved in the National Honor Society, the National English Honor Society, the National Technical Honor Society (Parliamentarian), Student Council (Senior Class Vice President), Swim team (Captain), Business Professionals of America (Historian), Health Occupations Students of America, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Choir, and Theater.  Brianna also has worked as a lifeguard for the City of Edinburg.  Her supervisor with the City described her as excellent in work ethic, customer service, and leadership skills.

Brianna’s goal is to become a Physician’s Assistant, giving back to her community as much as possible in the process.  She plans to enroll at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley to pursue a Master’s degree in Health Science.
