Once a Mentee – Now a Mentor!
Meet John Ryan Rodriguez, a native of Mission, TX. Rodriguez graduated from Sharyland Pioneer in 2017. During his time at Pioneer, John Ryan was active in organizations such as RGV L.E.A.D., Student Council, FFA, Band, UIL, and the National Honor Society.
Once a Mentee – Now a Mentor!
After high school, he attended Texas A&M University – College Station where he was a two-term senator for the university’s Student Senate. In addition to his academics, John Ryan worked as an undergraduate research & teaching assistant within his department.
Today, John Ryan is a graduate assistant at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where he is earning his master’s degree in public administration. He serves on numerous
community boards including Texas Congressional District 15’s Youth Advisory Council, Texas A&M’s Young Alumni Advisory Council, and the Board of Directors for the First United Methodist Church of Edinburg.
Rodriguez was once part of the mentoring program while a student at Pioneer High School. He says he is grateful for the opportunity to serve as a mentor for students of the Sharyland community.
