RGV LEAD WELCOMES NEW DIRECTOR

RGV LEAD is pleased to announce that Luis Rodriguez, a native of the Rio Grande Valley, has been named Executive Director of the organization.  He was born and raised in Brownsville, where he became an Eagle Scout with Troop 1 at the age of 13, then earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science from the University of Texas at Brownsville-Texas Southmost College in 2006.   Rodriguez has spent the last 13 years serving the Boy Scouts of America as a District Director in Austin, Texas, and then, just recently, in the Rio Grande Valley. He currently resides in Brownsville with his wife of 11 years, Genoveva, and their two daughters, ages 4 and 3 weeks.

Rodriguez believes strongly in RGV LEAD’s mission, partnering to engage students in college-and-career-focused initiatives.   He states, “I am looking forward to my new role with RGV LEAD.  The organization is doing a tremendous amount of excellent work for students, employers, and the Valley as a whole, and I am eager to begin.”  The RGV LEAD board and partners are happy to welcome Luis Rodriguez as RGV LEAD’s new director.
