Farewell Message from RGV LEAD Director
RGV LEAD has seen leadership changes throughout its thirty-year history. It began with Pat Bubb at the helm, followed by Dr. Norma Salaiz, and lastly, Luis Rodriguez. Rodriguez has been Executive Director for RGV LEAD for the past three years but recently had to make a tough decision to step aside to follow his heart in another leadership role.
RGV LEAD is a great organization that assists our Valley students and educa-tors in a number of ways. I have had the pleasure of meeting so many bril-liant educators, students and commu-nity members working together to make this work. The decision I made to resign was not taken lightly. I want to thank RGV LEAD for allowing me the chance to run the organization for almost 4 years.
Effective December 1, 2023 I will be starting in a new, but somewhat fa-miliar role, returning to the Boy Scouts America to be the CEO of the local Rio Grande Council. I feel my journey has started to come full circle. Many hours and dedicated time as a youth in this great program and now I am back as the CEO making sure that we continue to afford the youth of the Rio Grande Valley opportunities to experience what I did as a youth.
RGV LEAD wishes Rodriguez the best in his new endeavor as CEO of the Boy Scouts of America Rio Grande Council.
