May 2022 | Vol.3, Iss. 9 TPPN News - Virtual Mentoring Coming in June! RGV LEAD is proud to announce that it will host a virtual mentoring program for the TRPN district students. The pilot program will kick off on June 21st and 23rd, but the orientation was held on May 20th. The virtual summer mentor program will consist of a panel of speakers in the TRPN pathway clusters. Panelists will share the requirements needed for the TRPN pathway careers in welding, construction, education, wind energy, and health education. May 2022 | Vol.3, Iss. 9 La Feria High School TRPN Construction and Welding Pathways Robert Salazar, La Feria High School Agriculture Sciences Teacher/FFA Advisor, is well underway promoting the Texas Regional Pathway Network grant in welding with his FFA students. When asked to share what the students have been doing, he had this say, “These La Feria FFA members showed projects that were fabricated in class at the Rio Grande Valley Live-stock Show and at a project show at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. May 2022 | Vol.3, Iss. 9 TPRN News RGV LEAD would like to welcome Brownsville ISD, Los Fresnos CISD, and Point Isabel ISD to the Texas Regional Pathways Network (TRPN) program. RGV LEAD, the TRPN Intermediary partner, will be collaborating with the school districts on such topics as pathway alignment, business and industry connections, postsecondary connections, teacher externships, student mentoring, and more. The pathway focus is Education and Training.

March 2022 | Vol.3, Iss. 7 TRPN NEWS The Texas Regional Pathways Network is well underway in South Texas, but with the pandemic in full swing in 2020-2021, RGV LEAD could not visit the TRPN districts in person. All meetings were held virtually. While virtual meetings are great for saving time spent on the road, the participants miss out on the face-to-face engagement. This year, 2022, RGV LEAD and the TRPN program will offer virtual and face-to-face meetings. The goal is to hold regional meetings virtually, and then, visit the participating districts in person.
