The Texas Regional Pathways Network districts are not exempt from this requirement which is why school administrators could be found wrapping up end-of-program reports for Cohort 2 and mid-year progress reports for Cohort 3. July 2022 | Vol.3, Iss. 11 The Gift of Giving RGV LEAD hosted the Vitalant blood drive at its office, located at 322 S Missouri Avenue in Weslaco. Vitalant is a nonprofit organization that collects blood from volunteer donors and provides blood, blood products, and services across the United States. The blood donations serve Rio Grande Valley hospitals which provide the RGV community access to possibly life-saving blood. RGV LEAD would like to thank donors for their support. July 2022 | Vol.3, Iss. 11 Congratulations RGV LEAD Scholarship Recepients! Congratulations to the RGV LEAD Class of 2022 Scholarship Recipients! RGV LEAD, through the efforts of fundraisers provided by the RGV LEAD board members, was proud to announce the expansion of the scholarship funds to one $5,000 scholarship and four $1,000 scholarships. The goal is to increase scholarship funds in 2023 to allow more students to benefit from scholarships for their educational careers. July 2022 | Vol.3, Iss. 11 Introduction to the Teacher Externship a Big Success! This year’s Intro to Teacher Externship 3-day hands-on program was filled with various experiences. Some externs worked in offices such as the Pharr EDC, whereas others experienced the world of pipe fitting at the McAllen Careers Institute. Whatever the experience was, teachers from Brownsville and Port Isabel to La Joya ISD walked away with plenty of out-of-school lessons to share with their students in the fall of 2022.
